Lot 120 – Casanova King – Querari x My Lovely (AUS)

“he is a powerful, graceful mover with a pedigree to die for”

Invincible Spirit, Kodiac relative a standout at Premier Sale

Kilimanjaro Bloodstock will be offering an exceptionally well bred colt at the 2019 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Casanova King (Lot 120) is a bay colt sired by Gr.1 Premio Presidente della Repubblica winner and champion Querari.
One of South Africa’s most consistently successful stallions, Querari has sired stakes winners in each of his first four crops to race, with his top performers including the graded stakes winners Querari Falcon, Kangaroo Jack, Cosmic Light, Wonderwall, star sprinter Pinnacle Peak and the brilliant exported Gauteng Guineas winner Monks Hood.

Invincible Spirit

Outstanding sire Invincible Spirit

He also has a number of very promising 3yos representing him this season, with Querari’s notable sophomores this season including the stakes winners Dagmar and Pleasedtomeetyou, as well as impressive KZN Fillies Guineas Trial winner Arianos Shadow.

Querari, who shares his sire Oasis Dream with hot sire Showcasing, had an advertised fee of R60 000 for 2018, with his yearlings continuing to prosper in the sales ring. A Querari filly made R1 000 000 at the 2018 Premier Sale, while a colt by the Maine Chance Farms sire fetched R800 000 at the most recent National Yearling Sale.

Casanova King is out of a winning daughter of US champion and G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner War Pass in the form of My Lovely, with the latter being a half-sister to Gr.1 Champagne Stakes third Fast And Sexy (like the colt on offered sired by a Danzig line stallion).

My Lovely’s second dam is the stakes placed Slip Anchor mare Fayfa –who also ranks as the ancestress of stakes winners Contessa Vanessa and Astor as well as useful local gallopers Captain’s Causeway and Winter Heart.

Uni

G1 winner Uni

In turn, Fayfa is a half-sister to French Oaks winner Rafha –the dam of outstanding stallions Invincible Spirit and Kodiac, who, between them were responsible for five Gr.1 winners in 2018. Invincible Spirit, who stands for a fee of €120 000, has sired more than 100 stakes winners to date –including 2018 Gr.1 scorers Eqtidaar, Royal Meeting and Magna Grecia-as well as current sire sensation Kingman, while his half-brother Kodiac, an exceptional sire of 2yos and responsible for over 90 black type performers, is the sire of 2018 Gr.1 winners Best Solution (Caulfield Cup) and Fairyland (Cheveley Park Stakes).

Intriguingly, Invincible Spirit is a son of Green Desert –the grandsire of Querari, which makes Casanova King bred on very similar lines to that outstanding stallion.

This is also the family of outstanding 2yo and Coolmore sire Pride Of Dubai, Equus Champion Enaad, new Coolmore sire Gustav Klimt and graded/group winners Uni (winner of the recent G1 Matriarch Stakes), Nayarra, and Wonderfully.

This colt has been bred on a the same cross that produced Gr.1 winner Invincible Spirit whom is from this very family!
