Lot 3 – Firstnightbliss x Master Of My Fate

Boland Stud to offer Wild Wicket sibling at August Sale

Boland Stud will be offering some very well related two-year-olds at this year’s August Two Year Old Sale. Among them is a Master Of My Fate half-brother, offered as agent, to five winners, notably the talented gelding Wild Wicket. The latter won four, and earned over R500 000 in stakes, including the 2018 Listed Michael Roberts Handicap and also ran third, to champion It’s My Turn, in the Gr3 Gold Cup of the same year. Wild Wicket is out of Gr.1 Sun City SA Fillies Classic third placegetter Firstnightbliss, a daughter of champion sire and broodmare sire Jallad who won four times up to 1800m.

Equus Champion – Tempting Fate (by Master Of My Fate)

The well bred Firstnightbliss is a half-sister to three stakes winners -dual Gr.3 Matchem Stakes winner Sevillano, Gr.2 Gold Bowl winner Herod The Great and Ladies Mile queen Jet Lady (the latter was sired by Jet Master, grandsire of this colt on sale). Firstnightbliss’ granddam Super Entente showed cracking form at two, when finishing third in the Gr.1 Cheveley Park Stakes, and further back, this is the family of Champion 2YO, and successful sire, Lord Avie. Winner of both the G2 Premier Trophy and G2 Peninsula Handicap, Master Of My Fate has proved to be yet another successful, South African bred stallion. The bay, whose half-sister is the dam of this season’s star three-year-old Malmoos, has made a considerable impact since retiring to stud.

Master Of My Fate’s first crop was headed by Gr.2 KRA Guineas winner, and millionaire Twist Of Fate (who also captured the recent Duchess Of York Cup), Gr.3 winner African Adventure, Gr.3 Flamboyant Stakes queen Indi Anna, Kenyan superstar Silverstone Air, and Derby Trial winner Gift For The Gap. The stallion’s second crop included Derby winning filly American Princess, Gr.2 SA Fillies Nursery winner Basadi Faith and Driving Miss Daisy (runner up in three Gr.1 races), while Master Of My Fate’s third crop is headed by Equus Champion Tempting Fate and fellow Gr.1 winner Sentbydestiny, as well as Gr.3 Vasco Prix du Cap winner Zarina.
