Lot 132 – Romantic Moon x Master Of My Fate
Lunar Rush sibling to eclipse National Sale rivals
Boland Stud will be offering a very well related colt indeed at this year’s National Sale in the form of Captain Of My Fate. The latter, who combines the names of two of South Africa’s most successful stallions of recent years in the form of Jet Master and Silvano up-close in his pedigree, is a son of the consistently successful stallion Master Of My Fate. The latter, whose stakes winning half-sister Justthewayyouare ranks as the dam of recently retired Triple Crown winner Malmoos, has enjoyed consistent success since retiring to stud, with his first crop headed by Guineas winner, and millionaire, Twist Of Fate and his second by high-class fillies Basadi Faith and Driving Miss Daisy.
Master Of My Fate’s subsequent crops have included a deluge of stakes winners headed by champion Tempting Fate, fellow G1 winners Sentbydestiny and Zarina, as well as the likes of Native Tongue, Pretty Betty, and Zapatillas. The strapping son of Jet Master is represented in Boland’s National Yearling Sale draft by Captain Of My Fate. The latter, who hails from an outstanding North American family, is a half-brother to two winners notably KZN Yearling Sale Million victress Lunar Rush. Captain Of My Fate is out of a very speedy performer in the form of Romantic Moon -who won eight times, up to 1200m, and ran third in the G3 Poinsettia Stakes. A daughter of five times champion South African sire Silvano, and bred on the same Silvano/National Assembly cross as leading sire Vercingetorix, Romantic Moon is out of a twice winning half-sister to G1 Mercury Sprint winner All Will Be Well.Romantic Moon, whose other notable immediate relatives include US champion and successful sire Silent Screen, is directly descended in female line from Spinaway Stakes winner Sunday Evening. The latter is ancestress of numerous high-class performers including outstanding sire Medaglia D’Oro, champion fillies Dark Mirage and Indian Skimmer, top-class sprinter and successful sire Bluebird, and star US galloper Java Gold. Sunday Evening is also ancestress of South African G1 winners Lobo’s Legend and Pine Princess, with the latter dam of this season’s very talented three-year-old Pyromaniac.
