Lot 14 – Polychromatic x Querari
Boland Stud’s Querari filly hails from a great filly family!
Consistently successful stallion Querari has a tremendous record as a sire of fillies. The son of Oasis Dream (himself sire of such standout daughters as Midday, Pretty Pollyanna, and Tuscan Evening) is already the sire of 18 stakes winning daughters. This tally is headed by Gr.1 Thekwini Stakes winner Querari Falcon, and includes fellow graded stakes winners Caya Coco, Cockney Pride, Cosmic Light, Homely Girl, Galla Vanting, Gobsmacked, Maryah, and Mill Queen. Another daughter of Querari, the very speedy Champery, is the dam of 2021 G1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas heroine Chansonette.
When taking into account for the fact Querari is also sire of such classy stakes placed daughters as Melliflora, Hoist The Mast, Electric Surge and Slalom Queen, it is clear that Querari can really come up with a top-class filly. Boland Stud, who bred Querari’s very fast son Cruise Control and the Querari sired Listed Ruffian Queraress, will be offering another high-quality Querari filly at this year’s National Yearling Sale. The filly in question hails from a family with a stellar record in producing top-class fillies and mares over the years.A half-sister to 2 winners, including the smart Colour My Fate who has done so well in Mauritius, this filly is out of the winning Black Minnaloushe mare Polychromatic. The latter is a full-sister to Listed Easter Handicap winner Great Rumpus and half-sister to graded stakes winners Master Plan (Gr.1 Champions Cup) and Polyphonic (Gr.2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes). Polychromatic is, in turn, out of the six time winnng Princess Polly, a half-sister to dual Gr.1 winner, and Equus Champion, Young Rake, stakes winning filly Rubirosa and Gr.2 SA Oaks runner up Little Fox. Another half-sister to Princess Polly, Perfect Polly, produced champion filly Along Came Polly. South Africa’s Champion 2YO Filly of 2013, Along Came Polly won both the Gr.1 Thekwini Stakes and Gr.1 Empress Club Stakes before being exported to North America where she produced smart six time winner My Boy Lollipop.
Further back, this family has also produced such standout fillies as champion and outstanding broodmare Rock Opera, Gr.1 Cape Of Good Hope Paddock Stakes heroine Indira and dual Gr.1 South African Fillies Sprint queen Marie Galante. This is also the family of star sprinter Van Halen, French Gr.1 winner Royal Meeting and yet another South African Fillies Sprint winner in the form of Lady Mollison.

Meavy Metal – Al Maktoum Challenge R1
