Lot 175 – Golden Earings x Danon Platina

Golden Earrings

Boland Stud offer a colt with a “golden” pedigree

Blue blooded young sire Danon Platina, whose first crop race this year, looks a very exciting addition to the South African stallion band. A Gr.1 winner and champion at two, the handsome grey is a son of legendary Japanese racehorse and sire Deep Impact. The latter, whose progeny include nearly 200 stakes winners and more than 50 Gr.1 winners, is fast making a name for himself as a sire of sires. Among the Deep Impact stallions to have sired Gr.1 winners are Kizuna, and Real Impact, with Deep Impact responsible for a large number of other promising young sire sons.

Gypsy's Warning

International Gr.1 winner – Gypsy’s Warning

This number also includes very promising sire, and former Gr.1 Qipco 2000 Guineas winner, Saxon Warrior. The latter has made a cracking start with his first two-year-olds this season including Gr.3 Prix de Conde winner Victoria Road as well as a flood of other promising sorts. Boland Stud will be offering a regally bred colt by Deep Impact’s star son Danon Platina at this year’s November Two Year Old Sale. The colt in question hails from an outstanding female line, while his dam is a daughter of Fort Wood, the broodmare sire of nearly 100 stakes winners! This colt is out of the blue blooded Golden Earings, a half-sister to three graded stakes winners including Gypsy’s Warning. The latter won a trio of Gr.1 races, with Gypsy’s Warning’s three Gr.1 victories including a win in North America’s storied Matriarch Stakes, a race also won by such superstars as Intercontinental, Ryafan, Flawlessly and Royal Heroine.

Gypsy’s Warning is also granddam of this year’s promising French two-year-old Terrestrial, beaten less than a length when runner up in the 2022 Gr3 Prix Six Perfections at Deauville. The brilliant Gypsy’s Warning was one of three graded stakes winners produced by Gypsy Queen, herself a full-sister to the SA Oaks winning own sisters Noble Destiny and Royal Prophecy. The colt on sale traces back directly in female to one of the greatest racemares of all time -four time British classic winner Sceptre!
