A Futura colt with a tremendous pedigree!

Boland Stud, on behalf of the farms’ grooms co-op, will be offering a Futura colt with an outstanding female line at this year’s November Two Year Old Sale. South Africa’s Horse Of The Year in 2014-2015, Dynasty’s four time Gr.1 winning son Futura has proved a consistently successful sire since. Futura’s first crop yielded Gr.2 Durban Golden Horseshoe hero Nourbese and fellow graded stakes winners Pink Tourmaline, Vihaan’s Pie and Warrior, while his subsequent crops have yielded a plethora of smart performrs notably AJ’s Captain, Ekoria, Future Prince, Light Of The Moon, Thefutureisbright and last season’s Listed Compendium Insurance Brokers winner Xavion.

Futura is also sire of the very exciting Le Morne, an impressive winner of his first two starts and a colt who looks headed for bigger and better things this season. He is represented in Boland’s November Sale draft by a colt who hails from a consistently top-class female line. The colt in question, a half-brother to five winners including the smart Harley’s Fate, is out of the winning Royal Academy mare Hargraves Bell, a half-sister to Listed East Coast Handicap/Listed Queen Palm Handicap queen Feel My Love. Hargraves Bell, whose sire Royal Academy is broodmare sire of more than 200 stakes winners including legendary, multiple champion sire Fastnet Rock, hails from the immediate family of the Royal Academy sired star broodmare Mystic Spring.

The latter, South Africa’s Broodmare Of The Year in 2016-2017, produced a staggering seven stakes winners, including Equus Champions Rabiya and Bela-Bela. The latter, like Futura, was sired by Dynasty -making the colt on offer bred on similar lines to triple Gr.1 winner Bela-Bela! Bela-Bela is also showing promise as a broodmare -her three-year-old daughter Ciao Bella recently won very impressively at Hollywoodbets Durbanville, and Ciao Bella looks on track for a very bright season! Other notable members of this wonderful family include 2000 Guineas winner Mystiko and Irish champion Basim -to name but two!
