Lot 181 – Lemon Tea x Master Of My Fate
Classically bred Master Of My Fate colt one for the short-list
Boland Stud will be offering an exceptional draft at this year’s Emperors Palace National Two Year Old Sale, with many of the farm’s two-year-olds sired by top class sires and many hailing from outstanding female lines. Jet Master horse Master My Fate made a huge impression on the South African track last season, when his representatives included not only Equus Champion 2YO Colt, and Gr.1 Golden Horse Medallion winner, Tempting Fate, but also Gr.1 Premiers Champion Stakes heroine Sentbydestiny and World Sports Betting East Cape Derby winner American Princess.
The winner of six of only eight starts, Master Of My Fate’s earlier crops included Guineas winner Twist Of Fate, SA Fillies Nursery heroine Basadi Faith, Kenyan superstar Silverstone Air and Derby Trial victor Gift For The Gap -making the sire surely one of the more exciting stallions in South Africa at present. He is represented in the Boland Stud draft by an intriguingly bred colt, who is inbred to legendary champion and broodmare Glorious Song. Inbreeding to Glorious Song has already produced a host of high-class gallopers including Gr.1 Shadwell Turf Mile winner Suedois and the group/graded stakes winners Glycon and Isabella Sings. The colt in question is out of a dual winning half-sister to the Geoff Woodruff trained Gr.2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks winner Secret Potion -who has amassed earnings of more than R1 000 000.His granddam is a half-sister to the graded stakes winners Heat Of The Night (also a winner in North America) and Naughty Prince, and third dam is none other than Gr.3 Cape Of Good Hope Nursery winner Naughty Princess.
Further back, this is the family of Argentine champions Eclipse West and Just In Case, as well as former high class South African performer Jazzy, who captured the Gr.2 Gallant Bloom Handicap in North America.
