Boland Stud will be offering a very appealing colt (Lot 201) by Lancaster Bomber at the upcoming August Two Year Old Sale. Lancaster Bomber, who is represented by his first two-year-olds this season, has already made his mark in sales rings all over South Africa. A filly by Lancaster Bomber made R550 000 at this year’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale, while Lancaster Bomber’s first crop of yearlings made up to R480 000 at the 2022 Cape Yearling Sale. The son of War Front’s fine results continued into the National Yearling Sale, where yearlings by Lancaster Bomber sold up to R700 000.
It is not surprising that Lancaster Bomber has proved so popular -one of more than 100 stakes winners sired by War Front, Lancaster Bomber not only won the 2018 Gr.1 Tattersalls Gold Cup (a race won previously by outstanding sire Montjeu), he also finished runner up in all of the 2017 Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Mile, 2017 Gr.1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile Stakes, 2017 Gr.1 St James’s Palace Stakes, 2016 Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, and 2016 Gr.1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes.

Captain Al, broodmare sire of the colt in question, is already damsire of such notable Gr.1 winners as Kommetdieding (Vodacom Durban July, WSB Cape Town Met), Same Jurisdiction (Jonsson Workwear Garden Province Stakes, Thekwini Stakes), Eden Roc (Gold Medallion), Potent Power (Gold Medallion), Gunner (Premiers Champion Stakes), and Vernichey (Allan Robertson Championship).
