Lot 294 – Garden Tea Party x One World

Boland Stud - Lot 294

Boland Stud to offer a filly with champion connections!

The regally bred Western Winter mare Garden Tea Party is done little wrong since retiring to stud. A winning full-sister to Gr.3 Jubilee Handicap runner up Rainy Day Blues, Garden Tea Party has produced two winners from two runners, with her three-year-old daughter Carbonado having run out a courageous winner of the TAB Telebet Breeders Guineas Plate. Garden Tea Party is not only the daughter of a multiple champion sire in the form of Western Winter (also broodmare sire of this season’s Gr.1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas/Gr.1 Cartier Paddock Stakes winner Make It Snappy) she is also a half-sister to Gr.2 Betting World 1900 winner Solid Speed and the smart performer Silva’s Bullet.

Lady In Black

Equus Champion – Lady In Black

Her dam Boston Tea Party, by champion sire Jallad, was a winning own sister to Gr.1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winner Talahatchie, and half-sister to Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes queen Jane S Piddy. Boston Tea Party is also a half-sister to the dams of champions Lizarre and Lady In Black, as well as this season’s Gr.2 Ridgemont Highlands Peninsula Handicap hero Nexus. Boland Stud will be offering a One World filly out of Garden Tea Party at the 2023 National Yearling Sale.

One of the very best sons of multiple champion sire Captain Al, One World was South Africa’s Champion Older Male of 2019-2020. The handsome bay won 10 of 14 starts and was never out of the first three, with One World earning more than R5 million during his illustrious career. He scored his biggest win when downing champions Rainbow Bridge, Hawwaam, Vardy and Do It Again to win the 2020 Gr.1 Sun Met. One World, whose first crop are now yearlings, is out of a mare by Giant’s Causeway -as is outstanding North American stallion Gun Runner. The filly in question is bred on a similar cross to the one which produced five time Gr.1 winning champion Carry On Alice and Gr.1 Forus Cape Guineas winner Tap O’ Noth, while she also hails from the same family as The Merry Widow (East Cape Fillies Nursery, Perfect Promise Sprint) and Dance With Al (Gr.2 Betting World Merchants)(both of whom, like One World, were sired by Captain Al!).
