Lot 351 – Stateofusa – Tiptol x Mambo In Seattle

Classically bred colt has much to offer

Few, if any, horses on offer at this year’s Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale hail from a better family than does the Mambo In Seattle colt offered by Boland Stud, as Agent. This colt, already named Stateofusa, is out of a three time winning daughter of Maine Chance Farms’ multiple champion sire Silvano, with his dam, Tiptol, herself a half-sister to the useful performers Tribute To Kylie and Tallinn. Stateofusa’s superbly bred granddam, Tumbelini, is a daughter of outstanding sire, and multiple champion broodmare sire Pivotal, and former South African champion Kundalini. The latter, South Africa’s Champion 3YO Filly of 1993, won six times with her wins including defeats of top male rivals in both the Gr.1 Bloodline Classic and Gr.2 The Dingaans.

Kundalini’s daughters have also made their presence felt at stud, with her daughters having produced such notable graded stakes winners as Diamond Diva (Gr.2 CashCall Mile), Dharma (Gr.3 Winter Derby), and Vengence (Gr.3 East Cape Derby). Kundalini’s stakes winning dam Hatton Gardens is a half-sister to champion, and Gr.1 Irish 1000 Guineas/Gr.1 Eclipse Stakes winner Kooyonga, and this is also the family of 2000 Guineas winner, and successful South African sire, Roland Gardens. The colt on offer is a son of G1 Travers Stakes runner up Mambo In Seattle (himself a three-parts brother to champion and top-class US sire Lemon Drop Kid) -the sire of nearly 20 black type horses notable multiple Gr.1 winner Same Jurisdiction.

Other notable performers sired by Mambo In Seattle include the graded stakes winners Desert Rhythm, Fortune Fella, and Mambo Mime, and fellow stakes winners Bize, Gambado, Mr O’Neill, and Dubai based Gr.1 Daily News 2000 runner up Majestic Mambo.
