Lot 92 – Allez Afrique x Vercingetorix

“This exceptional colt is from a family of champions and is destine to be a champion himself”

Boland Stud offer an “Enchanting” colt at KZN Sale.

Ceres Farm Boland Stud are proud to offer an exceptionally well connected Vercingetorix colt at the 2018 KZN Yearling Sale.

The colt (Lot 92) is from the first crop of Maine Chance Farms’ Vercingetorix, an unbeaten Equus Champion in South Africa who won the Gr.1 Jebel Hatta in Dubai. Vercingetorix, who was also placed in both the Gr.1 Dubai Duty Free and QE II Cup, has made an impressive start with his first yearlings in 2018. A Boland Stud consigned son of Vercingetorix fetched R2.2 million at the recent National Sale, with other yearlings by the champion fetching up to R650 000 at that auction.

The magnificent colt in question is not only by a champion son of a champion sire in Silvano, but he hails from one of the speediest families in the South African stud book. Himself a half-brother to a multiple winner, this unnamed bay is out of a winning Jet Master half-sister to the Shane Humby trained O Caesour, whose 11 wins included the Gr.1 Cape Flying Championship, where O Caesour annihilated champion sprinters Mythical Flight and Rebel King.

Second dam is a winning Al Mufti half-sister to 2yo stakes winner Bwana Bahati and third dam is a five time winning half-sister to Gr.1 winner Enchanting. The latter was an exceptional broodmare whose offspring included the champions Harry’s Charm and Enchantress (dam of champion Laverna).

Another daughter of Enchanting produced multiple Gr.1 winner National Currency (like Harry’s Charm trained by Mike Azzie), and this is also the family of Gr.1 SA Fillies Classic winner Siren’s Call and promising Cape 2yo Fabian. This is also a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winners King’s Gambit, Bold Silvano, Equina and Al Shahem.

Broodmare sire Jet Master, himself a seven times champion sire, is fast making his mark as a broodmare sire, with his daughters already having produced such champions as Edict Of Nantes and Lady Of Black, this season’s SA Fillies Nursery winner Ronnie’s Candy, and trainer Eric Sands’ current unbeaten star Rainbow Bridge.

At the time of writing, Jet Master is broodmare sire of six black type winners in 2017-2018 including Sean Tarry’s Camellia Stakes winner Green Plains.
