Boland seek more success with Querari

Boland Stud have enjoyed plenty of success with prominent sire Querari, with Boland having produced the likes of River Queraress and Cruise Control to Querari. The former won the Listed Ruffian Stakes, while the uber fast Cruise Control has won four of his first six starts and he looks well above average. Querari has proved a consistently top-class stallion since retiring to South Africa in 2011 . Twice Leading Sire of 2YO by stakes, the son of Oasis Dream has been responsible for more than 30 stakes winners thus far, with Querari’s black type winners headed by Equus Champion Rio Querari and fellow Gr.1 winner Querari Falcon.

Gr.1 winner – Kommetdieding

Boland Stud will be offering a blue blooded Querari filly at this year’s November Two Year Old Sale, with this filly truly sporting a superb pedigree. This filly is a three-parts sister to the very smart Quasiforsure (who was sired by Querari’s half-brother Quasillo) -winner of three of just four starts and third in the 2021 Listed Model Man Mile. The pair were produced by the three time winning Count Dubois mare Surefire, herself a half-sister to Gr3 King’s Cup winner Pirate’s Gold. This makes the filly on sale bred on the same Querari/Count Dubois cross as top-class sprinter Pinnacle Peak and Gr.1 Thekwini Stakes runner up Melliflora.

Surefire, a direct descendant of legendary producer, hails from an outstanding female line with her immediate relatives including such as notable graded stakes winners as Aquitaine, Cruise Collection and Captain America. The latter earned more than R6 000 000 in a career highlighted by wins in all of the Gr.1 H F Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes, Gr.1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge and Gr.1 Champions Cup. This is also the female line of Kommetdieding, winner of the 2021 Gr.1 Vodacom Durban July and 2022 Gr.1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met. Out of a stakes placed, three-parts sister to the aforementioned Captain America, Kommetdieding has already earned more than R3.7 million in prize money. Kommetdieding’s half-brother is the very useful Quantum King, who, like the filly on sale, was sired by Querari!
