Boland Stud will be offering 12 yearlings (five more as agent) at the 2017 KZN Yearling Sale at the end of this month.
One of the best bred fillies in the draft is undoubtedly lot 137 an unnamed bay daughter of G1 Travers Stakes runner up Mambo In Seattle.

The latter, whose dam is an own sister to breed shaping champion sire A P Indy, is the sire of, among others, former KZN Yearling Sales graduate and dual G1 winner Same Jurisdiction, who made a pleasing return to racing when second, to British G3 performer Bletchley, over 1400m at Leicester earlier this week.

Same Jurisdiction was an outstanding performer in South Africa, where she won or placed in the G1 Thekwini Stakes, G1 Garden Province Stakes, G1 SA Fillies Classic, G1 Majorca Stakes, and G1 Paddock Stakes.

She holds an entry in the G2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot later this month.

Her paternal half-sister, lot 137, is a half-sister to 2 stakes winners including talented G2 Victory Moon Stakes winner Tiger’s Retreat, who won six times and earned over R640 000 in prize money.

Tiger’s Retreat was sired by Mambo In Seattle’s very close relative Tiger Ridge, making him a three parts brother to the Boland Stud offered lot 137.

The latter’s dam is a four time winning own sister to champion Saddlewood, whose seven wins included the G2 Gold Bowl and who also finished second in the classic G1 SA Derby.

Lot 137 is bred on the same Kingmambo/Sadler’s Wells cross as major international G1 winners/champions El Condor Pasa, Henrythenavigator, Divine Proportions, Virginia Waters and Thewayyouare –to name a few.
