Boland Stud – Lot 6

Triple Gr.1 winning stallion Elusive Fort has proved a consistently successful sire of high class fillies, and Boland Stud will be offering (on behalf of the Black Swan Stud) a well related daughter of this prolific sire at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale. The filly in question is a half-sister to four winners, including the Almushtarak sired five time winner First Growth.

Her dam Vintage Green is a winning daughter of Horse Of The Year Model Man –whose progeny includes Elusive Fort’s Gr.3 winning half-sister Easyjadeasy. Vintage Green, a winner over 1600m, is a half-sister to star sprinter Young Harvest, whose eight wins included the Gr.1 Gilbeys Stakes.

Further back, this is the family of champion and multiple Gr.1 winning filly Vesta, Gr.1 Queen’s Plate hero Yardmaster, and the graded stakes winners Roman Fantasy, Roman Charger, Special Squad, and Royal Charm. Model Man, the broodmare sire of Boland Stud’s Elusive Fort filly, has been a consistent successful damsire with his daughters having already produced such Gr.1 winners as Along Came Polly, Fly By Night, National Spirit and Pointing North. He is also damsire of SA Oaks winner and outstanding producer Sabina Park, whose progeny include the Geoff Woodruff trained dual Summer Cup winner Master Sabina.

Elusive Fort has come up with black type performers in each of his first crops to date, with the champion son of champion sire Fort Wood’s currently tally of black type performers currently standing at eighteen. To date, Elusive Fort’s notable daughters include Gr.1 SA Fillies Classic winner Siren’s Call, Gr.1 Thekwini Stakes heroine Lauderdale, classic winner Secret Potion, R2 million plus earner Safe Harbour, multiple graded stakes winners Freedom Charter and Fort Ember, and Gr.3 Prix du Cap victress Elusive Heart. Watch this space for the next top class Elusive Fort filly! This filly has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winner Dog Wood!
