In the rarefied world of luxury and prestige, where excellence is the standard and only the finest is acceptable, we are delighted to present an unparalleled opportunity that will resonate with your sophisticated taste and passion for the extraordinary. Boland Stud is proud to offer an exquisite Vercingetorix filly, a prospect with the pedigree and potential to become a future champion.

Vercingetorix: A Champion Sire

Vercingetorix, the Equus Champion and star sire, has had another phenomenal season in 2023-2024. The illustrious son of the six-time South African champion sire Silvano, Vercingetorix has joined the elite ranks of stallions who have sired the first two finishers in South Africa’s most prestigious horse race. His colts, Oriental Charm and Equus Champion Cousin Casey, achieved this remarkable feat in the Gr.1 Hollywoodbets Durban July, with Oriental Charm claiming victory in both the R5 000 000 Durban July and the Gr.3 Hollywoodbets Dolphins Cup Trial.

This achievement made Oriental Charm the ninth Gr.1 winner sired by Vercingetorix, who boasts more than 35 stakes winners. His progeny include champions like Cousin Casey and Mrs. Geriatrix, as well as 2023-2024 graded stakes winners such as Cymric (Gr.3 TAB Godolphin Barb Stakes) and Little Ballerina (Gr.2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Nursery). The 2023 National Yearling Sale featured a Vercingetorix colt consigned by Boland Stud that sold for an impressive R2 400 000, showcasing the high demand and value of his lineage.

Introducing Lot 109: A Filly Destined for Greatness

At this year’s August Two Year Old Sale, Boland Stud is honoured to present an exceptionally well-bred Vercingetorix filly (Lot 109). This filly is poised to capture the imagination and interest of discerning buyers who understand the value of pedigree and performance.

Pedigree Highlights:

  • Sire: Vercingetorix – With a track record of producing top-tier performers, Vercingetorix’s progeny have consistently demonstrated their excellence on the track, winning numerous prestigious races and earning significant prize money.
  • Dam: Elisium – This filly is out of the mare Elisium, making her a half-sister to five winners, including the notable Russian Rock. Russian Rock triumphed in the 2020 Gr.1 Cape Racing Presents The Cape Guineas, defeating top competitors like Linebacker, Jet Dark, and Malmoos.
  • Exceptional Bloodlines – Elisium’s lineage is distinguished by her close relation to champions. Her half-sister Hoity Toity produced the legendary Lillie Langtry, a dual Gr.1 winner whose progeny include classic winners Minding (1000 Guineas, Oaks), Empress Josephine (Irish 1000 Guineas), and Tuesday (Oaks). Minding, a seven-time Gr.1 winner and 2016 Cartier Horse Of The Year, is the dam of 2023 Gr.1 Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes winner Henry Longfellow.
  • Noble Ancestry – Elisium’s fourth dam is the Lancashire Oaks winner Noble Lassie, best known as the dam of Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner and outstanding sire Vaguely Noble.
