Lot 15 - March 2025

Own a Future Champion – Exquisite Rafeef Filly from Boland Stud

There are racehorses, and then there are legends in the making—horses whose very bloodlines whisper of glory, whose stride promises dominance, and whose presence commands attention. Today, we invite you to claim your place among the elite and own a thoroughbred that embodies excellence, speed, and a legacy of champions. Boland Stud is proud to present an exceptionally well-bred Rafeef filly at this year’s National Yearling Sale—an offering that is as rare as it is prestigious.

A Pedigree of Champions
This outstanding filly is sired by Rafeef, a son of the legendary Australian stallion Redoute’s Choice, and a proven Group 1 winner himself. Rafeef has taken South African racing by storm, producing no fewer than 22 black-type winners in his first four crops. His progeny have dominated the track, with standout names including:

  • Aragosta – Gr.1 World Sports Betting SA Derby winner, earnings exceeding R2.2 million.
  • Master Archie – Gr.1 Computaform Sprint winner, now standing at stud.
  • Thunderstruck – Equus Champion and Gr.1 Computaform Sprint winner.
  • William Robertson – Gr.2 winner with 13 career victories and counting.
  • Frances Ethel – Gr.2 Wilgerbosdrift Bridget Oppenheimer SA Oaks queen.

With such a track record, Rafeef is establishing himself as a sire of champions—and this filly is poised to continue the tradition.

Dam Line: Unmatched Speed and Stamina

Her dam, All Of Me, was a 13-time winner who earned nearly R1,000,000, showcasing extraordinary toughness and versatility from 1000m to 1400m. She is by Var, one of South Africa’s most prolific sprint sires, whose influence is evident in the pedigree of elite racehorses. This filly is bred on the highly successful Rafeef/Var cross, which has already produced Gr.1-winning sires Master Archie and Thunderstruck, as well as Gr.2 winner Cats Pajamas. Furthermore, this is a cross that mirrors that of In The Congo, the Gr.1 ATC Golden Rose-winning sire whose success underscores the potential of this filly to not only dominate on the track but also thrive as a future broodmare.
