Lot 34 – Arcetri Dawn x Jackson

BOLAND STUD TO OFFER ARCETRI PINK RELATVE AT KZN SALE

The Boland Stud will be offering a very well related Jackson filly at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale, due to take place this year on July 4th and 5th.

Boland Stud’s daughter of triple Gr.1 winner Jackson is out of a half-sister to the Geoff Woodruff trained millionaire Arcetri Pink, who was without question one of the best fillies of generation. Arcetri Pink won or placed in 15 races and earned over R1.4 million, with the filly winning all of the Gr.2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas, Gr.2 Ipi Tombe Challenge, and Gr.2 Ipi Tombe Challenge and she also ran second to champion Along Came Polly in the 2014 G1 L Jaffee Empress Club Stakes.

Among the notable performers beaten by Arcetri Pink were the Gr.1 winners Cherry On The Top, For The Lads, Athina, Along Came Polly, and Ash Cloud. This Jackson filly’s dam Arcetri Dawn was sired by former Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner and $2 million plus earner Bel Esprit, whose more than 50 stakes performers include unbeaten Australian superstar Black Caviar.

Arcetri Dawn herself was produced by the Galileo mare Arcetri –a half-sister to the brilliant filly Camena. The latter won seven times up to 1200m, with her wins including the Gr.2 Light Fingers Stakes and the Gr.2 Caulfield Sprint Handicap. This is the same female line of former South African star Gigantic –whose victories included the 1976 Gr.1 Holiday Inns, and 1976 Gr.1 Cape Derby.

This filly was sired by former Gr.1 Cape Derby, Gr.1 Daily News 2000, and Gr.1 Champions Cup hero Jackson, whose first crop included the talented stakes performers Action Jackson, Can You Feel It, Dynamire Jack, and Mr Crumford. One of the very best sons of ill-fated four times Equus Champion sire Dynasty, Jackson was directly descended from the great mare No Class –whose grandson Smart Strike is the grandsire of 2019 Kentucky Derby winner Country House.

This filly has been bred on a similar cross to the one that produced Gr.1 winner Bela-Bela!
