Boland Stud offer another classy Querari two-year-old

Boland Stud is certainly no stranger to enjoying success with the progeny of perennially successful sire Querari. The Ceres farm has bred a number of smart winners by Querari already, with their tally including the record breaking Cruise Control and Listed Ruffian Stakes heroine River Queraress. Querari had an outstanding season in 2021-2022 with his two-year-olds including the likes of River Queraress and Cruise Control, as well as graded stakes winners Galla Vanting and Prophet, the very promising Quantum Theory and smart debut winner Franz Lehar.

Buyers will have the chance to buy another talented two-year-old by Querari at this year’s August Two Year Old Sale, where Boland Stud will be offering a classy colt (Lot 53) by that son of Oasis Dream. The colt in question is a half-brother to two smart winners including four time winner, and Listed Dahlia Plate runner up Turbo. Bred to come to hand early, this colt is out of Pelican Point, who won four times over 1200 metres, and his broodmare sire is none other than seven times champion South African sire, and multiple Leading Broodmare Sire, Jet Master. The latter has become an exceptional broodmare sire, with Jet Master damsire of Equus Champions Rainbow Bridge, Hawwaam, Vardy, Jet Dark, Edict Of Nantes and Lady In Black.

Jet Master also ranks as the damsire of 2022 Gr.1 Woolavington 2000 winner Silver Darling, and fellow Gr.1 winners Kilindini, Rivarine, and Ronnie’s Candy. His daughter Pelican Point is herself out of a winning daughter of speedy two-year-old stakes winner Miss Hot Spot, a daughter of top sprinter and high-class sire Harry Hotspur. Further back, this is the family of Gr.3 Algoa Cup winner All Three A King and Gr.2 The Dingaans winner Fair Light.
